Zoning Location Survey

A zoning location survey relates to the setback requirements of a municipality.

Most towns and cities will have a number of property zones within their town.  Each zone will designate what you are allowed to do with your property within the zone.  As part of these rules, you will encounter regulations regarding setback lines.

A setback line determines the minimum distance from a property line that a building or other structure may be located within a property.

A zoning location survey will depict or note the location of existing or proposed improvements as they relate to zoning setback lines.
